Mood Boards and Pinterest (High Key Lighting)
For this shoot we were given the option of creating low key, mid key or high key lighting we had creative freedom. Straight away I knew I wanted to use high key lighting so I went straight into looking on Pinterest and the internet at the different variety of high key lighting. I have always liked high key lighting and one of my favourite photographers who uses high key lighting is David Bailey.
High key lighting is when you have unnaturally bright lighting to get rid of any shadows that might appear around the model, this means that the model will stand out against the white background and the viewers’ attention will be on the model alone as there will be nothing to distract them. Quite a few people who use high key lighting turn the images black a white to have more of a contrast against the model so whilst researching I looked at high key lighting in colour and in black and white. Yet as time went on I decided it would be better to do the images in colour as this is a fashion project and the main tasks is to get the audience to buy the clothes and if they cannot see the colour of the clothes they might not buy them.
